Sentinels Polycarbonate Fabrications – The Polycarbonate Specialists
The images show bespoke polycarbonate fabrications for one of our prestigious customers.
Being Polycarbonate Specialists, these parts are fully manufactured in house. Above all, fabricated by our Polycarbonate specialist team. But importantly, also machined on one of our five CNC Routing tables.
Noteworthy, our machines are capable of machining parts up to 3000mm x 2000mm in size. In most cases, what follows is the fabrication process, which Sentinels experienced team have perfected over the years, forming the finished products required.
Finally, the last stage involves welding & adhesive, which is carried out to stabilize all the joints and create a seal.
Bending Bespoke Polycarbonate Parts
Certainly, the skills acquired to work with a complex material, such as Polycarbonate, have been finely honed over many years. Which results in the ability to, produce accurate bending of large sized Guards, in very short time scales.
Sentinel can fabricate from 1mm up to 10mm. However, after that, thickness can depend on design and availability.
Machining Polycarbonate and Polycarbonate Fabrications
Certainly, our Plastic CNC machining services offer a great range of capabilities. Enabling us to achieve your bespoke requirements. Significantly, combined with our in-house plastic fabrication services, offer our customers a comprehensive package.
In addition, although we have finely honed our ability to work with Polycarbonate, our skills do also cover acrylic, PETG and PVC. Similarly, other types of engineering plastic materials from acetal, Delrin, nylon, polyethylene, HDPE to ABS and so on.
Plastic Machine Guards
We machine, bend, glue and weld using Polycarbonate, PET-G and Acrylic’s to customer specification, manufacturing robust guards with high visibility that can let you see the product being made and gives you the protection from moving parts.
A high proportion are made from polycarbonate which gives good visibility and strength for protection. Sentinel fabricate in different materials depending on their suitability, polycarbonates, acrylic and PET-G.
PET-G which has a class 1 fire rating has a similar quality to polycarbonate.
We are extremely versatile and are here to help with any requirements you may have. Our team are highly knowledgeable and able to provide valuable assistance and advice appropriate to the manufacture of your Plastic Machine Guards.
Material, Polycarbonate Sheet / Makrolon® Sheet / Lexan® Sheet
As standard, solid polycarbonate sheets are clear/transparent. But, above all, as a Plastic material, Polycarbonate offers an extreme impact strength that exceeds the majority of other clear plastics. Also noteworthy, is that Polycarbonate sheets can work in temperatures of -100 to +120 °C while still maintaining a high optical clarity and have a good fire rating.
A popular plastic material used to make shatterproof windows, it has a better light transmission than regular glass.
Our experienced machinists, Polycarbonate Specialists, can produce small or large batch quantities with high accuracy and high speed. Furthermore, making this an economic form of producing cut to shape plastic parts. Customers from the Conveyor Manufacturer’s to the high tech world of underwater exploration. All Make use of Sentinels skilled staff to gain benefits, including cost saving and problem solving during the design process.
